The remote sensing service will represent SIOS at the 2nd GEO Data Providers workshop in Florence, Italy on 20th to 21st April 2017.
The Group on Earth Observation (GEO) is a coalition of organisations that promotes the use of Earth Observation data and is working towards the implementation of the Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS). The SIOS remote sensing officer, Anna Maria Trofaier, will participate in the GEO meeting aimed at the global community of observing system data providers. Activities will include discussion of key principles on data sharing, the benefits of, as well as the issues associated with, being a data provider for GEOSS and reviewing the common applications of these data by users. The main focus of the workshop will be on how to contribute data and resources to GEOSS.
