Abstract:
The field investigation was carried out in Kongsfjorden. The profiles of water temperature, salinity, chlorophyll a concentrations and light within the upper 200 m water column at 5 stations (to near the seabed at stations 4 and 5) along a transect were investigated using a SBE 19-plus CTD. Water samples were collected with the depths of 0, 2, 5, 10, 20, 30, 50, 75, 100, 150 and 200 m, respectively for the purpose of the analysis of nutrients, POC, chlorophyll a, pigments, the structure and biodiversity of microbial community (bacteria and protists).
