The Science Optimisation Advisory Group, the Research Infrastructure Coordination Committee, and additonal scientific experts have defined the first set of SIOS Core Data.
The Core data are divided in four categories (atmosphere, cryosphere, terrestrial and oceans) and consist currently of 51 parameters.

As next step, SIOS-KC is currently in dialogue with the SIOS member institutions to map the existing data sets, identify SIOS Core Data and SIOS Core Data Candidates, and connect them to the SIOS Data Access Point.
In addition, webinars and a workshop on SIOS Core Data are planned for the second half of this year.
