The National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR), India, joined the SIOS consortium on 13 June 2019.
NCPOR established a station in Ny-Ålesund in 2008 and conducts a broad range of scientific studies within Earth System Science in the area (see list of projects). With NCPOR, the SIOS consortium now consists of 24 members and 1 observer from 10 nations.
