An international observing system for long-term measurements in and around the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard addressing Earth System Science questions
Starting from today, we are welcoming all SIOS members to present their research in the next State of the Environmental Science in Svalbard (SESS) report.
The call for contributions to the next SESS report will open 3 March 2020. SIOS seek proposals for chapters that highlight the state of environmental science in Svalbard and contribute to the development of the Earth Observing System in and around Svalbard.
In cooperation with the University Centre in Svalbard, we are taking one of their biology students under our feathers. Lina will be supporting us as an intern for the upcoming six months.
The SWAGNet field campaign, part funded by the SIOS Access Programme, was carried out in April and May 2019, based in Ny-Ålesund at Norwegian Polar Institute Sverdrup.
Are you working at a SIOS member institution and have an idea on how to strengthen the collaboration between research infrastructures or how to improve the SIOS observing system?
SIOS offers support for a stay at the SIOS Knowledge Centre in Longyearbyen to work on specific topics!
